Truck climbs Krebs Rd., gets stuck at top

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - A heavy wrecker from Steve's Towing, Shenandoah, and a stuck tractor trailer at Krebs Road and Ringtown Boulevard.

UNION TWP. – While crews responded to the truck incident in Mahanoy City, a tractor trailer was stuck midway up the Locust Mountain on the Pattersonville side.

Around 8:00pm, Sentinel readers began reporting that a truck was stuck at Krebs Road and Ringtown Boulevard in Union Township.

The truck, owned by Voltar Transportation of Sterling Heights, MI, attempted to climb Locust Mountain via Krebs Road, a dirt road that ends midway between Pattersonville and the scenic view on Ringtown Boulevard, and became stuck when it tried to turn left to head towards Shenandoah.

Union Township Police responded to the scene and handled traffic, later requesting assistance from the Ringtown Valley Fire Co. when tow trucks arrived.

Crews from Trail Towing and Steve’s Towing worked for several hours to free the truck.

The truck was free and proceeded on its way by 10:45pm.
