BRANDONVILLE – It happened again. A vehicle veered off the highway and struck equipment stored at the former Citizens firehouse here. This time, it was a tractor trailer.
The crash happened just before 5 a.m. Wednesday at the former firehouse on Main Boulevard at the base of Locust Mountain in East Union Township.
A tractor trailer operated by Max Air LLC of Mason, Ohio left Route 924, ending up in the storage area of the firehouse and nearly rolling on its side.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
The firehouse has been used by Mar-Mel Industrial, LLC, owned by Daniel Danchision.
His firm acquired the property in March of 2023 and renovated the firehouse and has used it for storage of industrial equipment since late 2024. Much of the equipment is manufactured by Erie Industries Group (EINGP) for a variety of applications.
On at least two other occasions, vehicles have veered off the highway and struck equipment. A dented storage container remained as a reminder of a prior accident.
