Firefighters tackle garage fire in West Mahanoy Twp.

ALTAMONT – No injuries were reported when flames broke out at a garage in the Altamont section of West Mahanoy Township Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters were called just before 1pm to the 200 block of South Wylam Street.

There, crews found a garage on Lotus Alley to the rear of 244 Wylam Street aflame.

Firefighters made quick work of the fire and were clear by 2pm.

No injuries were reported.

Responding were firefighters from Altamont, Englewood, Frackville, William Penn, and Shenandoah Heights along with Shenandoah EMS, West Mahanoy Township Police, and Frackville Police.
