Longtime volunteer honored at Shenandoah Little League opening day
BRITTANY LYNN OBRZUT / SPECIAL TO SHENANDOAH SENTINEL --
SHENANDOAH – Little League season in Shenandoah kicked off over the weekend as a longtime volunteer was recognized and the league celebrated a new bathroom facility.
Shenandoah Little League held their opening ceremonies on Saturday morning at the field on the west end.
Mr. Ed Palek, who passed away last September, had volunteered with the league for much of its existence.
His family was on hand as a sign in his memory was unveiled and dedicated.
Meanwhile, outside the field, a new bathroom project wrapped up. The league recognized the donors who made it possible, including the Twardzik Family Foundation, Antz Energy Systems, A One Service, Inc., Kyle Kerlavage Plumbing, Heating & HVAC, Beavertown Block, Pioneer Pole Buildings, S.R. Sloan, Inc., and Mark’s Supply.

“Every contribution, no matter the size, is a testament to the power of our community,” the league said in a Facebook post. “Thank you all for supporting Shenandoah Little League.”
