Police chase ends with U-Haul in Little Mahanoy Creek

ENGLEWOOD – A police chase ended in this Butler Township village just after 11:00am when a U-Haul officers were pursuing crashed into the Little Mahanoy Creek.

Firefighters from Frackville, Englewood, and Altamont were called to the area of Wood Lane and Walnick Drive for the crash.

Mahanoy City, West Mahanoy Township, Butler Township, State Police at Frackville, and Ringtown were among the law enforcement agencies at the scene.

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL – Paramedics, police officers, and firefighters tend to a person in the backseat of a West Mahanoy Township Police car.

Little information was made available at the time, though Shenandoah Ambulance medics were evaluating a man in the back seat of a West Mahanoy Township patrol car shortly after the crash, about a block and a half away from the crash site.

The U-Haul was located in the creek immediately adjacent to the collapsed section of Walnick Drive.
