Wilburton man killed in Fountain Springs crash
FOUNTAIN SPRINGS – A Wilburton man was killed in a vehicle crash in this Butler Township village Friday morning.
Frank Gronski, 65, of Wilburton, was pronounced dead at the scene just before 8am.
The crash happened when a sedan and pickup collided near Joe Thurs Automotive on Fountain Street, Route 61, in the village.
North Schuylkill School District buses were delayed because of the accident.
Butler Township firefighters rescued Gronski and the driver of the pickup truck, the latter taken by ambulance to the nearby abandoned Saint Catherine’s Hospital’s helipad to be flown to a trauma center.
State Police and Butler Township Police are investigating.
