NUREMBERG – Two were taken to local hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries after they spun their classic coupe Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred just before 3:30pm on Mahanoy Street between Raccoon Creek and Mountain Road.

According to North Union Township Police at the scene, the driver of the 1960s Ford Mustang lost control of his car in a corner, spun, and struck an embankment on the side of the road.

The driver and a passenger, both unidentified, were taken to local hospitals — the passenger to  Lehigh Valley Hospital – Hazleton and the driver to Geisinger in Danville — with non-life threatening injuries.

Assisting township police at the scene were fire crews from Nuremberg-Weston and medics from Shenandoah and Sugarloaf.
