Nuremberg Players to put on ‘Disaster!’ this month

NUREMBERG – It’s a “” DISASTER! “” The Nuremberg Community Players, a fully non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is proud to announce the cast for their upcoming production of Disaster!, the hilarious Broadway musical hit. A side-splitting spoof of 1970s disaster films.
The show takes place on a floating casino and discothèque where an array of colorful characters must survive earthquakes, tidal waves, and piranhas, all set to a soundtrack of iconic disco hits. Performances will be held at the Emerson Theater, located at 283 Hazle Street in Nuremberg.
Showtimes are scheduled for Friday, May 29, at 7:00 PM; Saturday, May 30, at 7:00 PM; and Sunday, May 31, at 3:00 PM. The production features a talented local cast bringing these eccentric characters to life. Todd Statuto stars as Chad Rublow, a rugged caterer who finds himself battling both natural disasters and old heartbreaks. Savannah Klingerman plays Maryanne Winters, a determined journalist who unexpectedly reunites with an ex-fiancé during the chaos.
Lacey Johnson portrays Jackie Noelle, a lounge singer and single mother searching for a better life, while Tori Dibble takes on the role of Shirley Winters, a vibrant woman hiding a terminal secret from her husband. Randy Berger plays Maury Winters, Shirley’s devoted and kind-hearted spouse.
Kaylee Chyko appears as Sister Mary Downy, a guitar-playing nun with a hidden gambling addiction. Jim Labula plays the greedy casino owner Tony Delvecchio, whose negligence leads to the catastrophe, and Leiloni Vergas stars as Levora Verona, a faded disco diva looking for one last shot at stardom.
Jerry O’Grodnick portrays the awkward disaster expert Ted Scheider, who tried to warn the guests, while Nora O’Grodnick takes on the dual roles of young twins Lisa and Ben.
Jason Reese rounds out the primary cast as Scott, the loyal friend caught in the middle of the madness.
The high-energy production is supported by an ensemble including Lisa Yurcho, Joe Dettery, Camille Acquaviva Reilly, Tisha Demshock, and Liberty Dettery. Together, this cast promises an evening of nostalgia, laughter, and high-stakes disco.
