State Police file new charges against accused ‘Glass’ vandal

SHENANDOAH – The 23-year-old accused of tagging several properties around town with “Glass” or “GLA” is facing more charges this week.

State Police at Frackville filed four more charges Monday against Janus Zev Miguel Sosa, 23, of South West Street.

Sosa is already facing several charges filed by Shenandoah Police in November. That case was awaiting an ARD hearing in Pottsville as of January 8.

According to the criminal complaint filed Monday by Trooper John Szczyglak, he was on patrol on Oct. 8 around 8:43am when a report was received that the side of school/church property was tagged with spray-paint.

Troopers arrived to find graffiti and tagging on church property at 233 West Cherry Street and a neighborhood canvass was performed.

Security camera footage was provided to troopers, via Shenandoah Police, from the church.

Borough Police notified troopers that they had a suspect in their ongoing vandalism investigations and troopers found that Sosa also matched the description of the suspect caught on camera at the church properties.

Sosa, police said, provided a written statement admitting to his involvement in all of the tagging incidents in town.

He is now facing three misdemeanor counts of institutional vandalism and a summary count of criminal mischief.
