Shen. Valley announces 2021 Wall of Fame class

SHENANDOAH – Three accomplished alumni have been selected as the members of the 2021 Shenandoah Valley Wall of Fame Class.

School Board President Dan Salvadore made the announcement at Wednesday’s school board meeting.

The three recipients are Attorney Jason Banonis, Class of 1990; Dr. Anthony Rizzardi, Class of 2004; and Dr. Jodi Piekarski Loughlin, class of 1989.

Salvadore provided a background on the three recipients.

Rizzardi graduated as part of the SV National Honor Society and completed pre-med schoolwork at Elizabethtown College and earned his Doctorate from Temple University. He has served as a surgical instructor at WellSpan Health and the University of Pennsylvania.

Banonis also graduated in the National Honor Society, earning his bachelor’s degree from Bucknell, followed by a law degree from Widener University School of Law. He was named a PA Super Lawyers rising star in 2007 and 2008, and a was named Defense Attorney of the Year for 2020 by the Pennsylvania Defense Institute.

Dr. Loughlin was also in the National Honors Society and received a Bachleor’s degree from Moravian College, a Master’s degree from Bloomsburg, and a doctorate from Penn State. She served as a teacher, administrator, coach, and school board member at Shenandoah Valley, the latter of which she still serves in. She is currently an education professor at Misericordia University.

“We have so many great graduates at Shenandoah, it makes us proud to be SV proud,” Salvadore said.
