PSP: 6-year-old girl ejected from Norwegian Twp. crash, in critical condition at Philly hospital

SELTZER – A 6-year-old girl is in critical condition at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia after state troopers say she was ejected from a vehicle in a crash at midday Saturday.

The crash happened around 12:30pm east of Seltzer on Seltzer Road at New Street.

State Police at Schuylkill Haven said a 19-year-old male was driving south on Seltzer Road and began to slide around a left-hand curve.

His vehicle’s rear passenger side quarter panel collided with an oncoming car’s front driver’s side bumper, troopers said.

The 19-year-old had four passengers, including a 37-year-old woman and three children under the age of 10.

One of those children, a 6-year-old girl, was ejected from the vehicle and seriously injured.

Troopers said she was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Schuylkill and transferred to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County.

The 19-year-old was taken to LVH – Schuylkill for minor injuries, and the remaining passengers were taken to Cedar Crest.

The driver of the oncoming vehicle, a 60-year-old woman, was taken to LVH – Schuylkill with minor injuries.

Troopers said that, at last update, the 6-year-old girl was in critical condition at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia County.

Assisting at the scene were units from Schuylkill EMS, Minersville EMS, Yorkville Fire, and Seltzer Fire.

Troopers did not identify any of the occupants or the make and model of the vehicles involved.
