PHOTOS: Shen.Valley Band performs winter concert

SHENANDOAH – The 28-member Shenandoah Valley High School Band performed their annual Sounds of Christmas concert Thursday evening, along with the 15-member 6th Grade Band.

Both bands were under the direction of Mr. John Shoener, SV Director of Bands.

Various holiday tunes were performed, such as Jingle Bells by the 6th Grade Band, and Sleigh Ride and Highlights from Frozen by the high school band.

Towards the end of the high school band’s portion of the concert, organizers of the Shenandoah Valley Alumni Band presented a donation to the school’s music program.

Additionally, musicians who made Schuylkill County Band were recognized. 

The next event to be hosted by the SV Music Department will be the 49th Annual Schuylkill County Chorus Festival, set for February 8, 2020 at 2pm at the high school.
