SHENANDOAH – The borough police force has a new lieutenant, after borough council approved Monday night the appointment of William A. Moyer Jr. to the post.

Moyer has been a patrolman for the borough police force for several years and replaces the now-retired Gary Keppel in the post.

Mayor Andrew J. Szczyglak recommended the approval during his report at Monday night’s borough council meeting, noting that two people had completed the examination process with the Shenandoah Civil Service Commission, and he had scored the highest.
