Man arrested for alleged straw purchases in Hazleton

HAZLETON – A man is facing charges for alleged straw purchases of firearms.

Hazleton Police said they arrested Cesar Hiciano-Rivera Wednesday morning for the illegal purchases.

Police said he made several purchases for convicted felons or others not allowed to have firearms, also known as a straw purchase.

The investigation included Hazleton Police, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, the PA Attorney Generals Office, and the Butler Township Police.

Hiciano-Rivera was arraigned and committed to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility, unable to post bail.
