Drug raid finds 5lb of meth, worth $113k, in possession of Pottsville man

POTTSVILLE – A 44-year-old Pottsville man is in Schuylkill County Prison after law enforcement uncovered five pounds of meth in his possession, which they say is worth $113,000 on the street.

Dylan Ciappa, 44, of 922 West Race Street, is facing several counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance after drug raids in the city.

State troopers from Reading and Bethlehem along with the county drug task force, Pottsville Bureau of Police, and federal Drug Enforcement Administration agents raided three locations in the city, they said.

They found five pounds of methamphetamine, worth $113,000; 454 grams of marijuana, worth $2,500; a quantity of cocaine; a large quantity of psilocybic mushrooms, and $5,000 cash.

Ciappa was taken into custody and charged in relation to the raids.

He was arraigned and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $150,000 bail.
