Demolition begins on Teen Canteen, adjacent buildings in downtown Mahanoy City

MAHANOY CITY – A set of vacant and blighted buildings in downtown Mahanoy City are coming down.
Demolition began this week on 24 East Centre Street. The building suffered a collapse several years ago, in which the first floor collapsed into the basement.
The borough approved demolition of 24 East Centre and the adjacent Mahanoy City Teen Canteen building earlier this year.
