Police investigate reported shooting in Hazleton

HAZLETON – Police in Hazleton are investigating after they say someone was shot in the city Thursday morning.
According to Hazleton Police, officers responded to several Flock Gunshot notifications in the area of East Beech Street and South Poplar Street around 4:30am Thursday. As officers were responding, multiple 911 calls reported gunfire in the area.
There, a victim was found with a gunshot wound and taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating and anyone with camera footage of the area or information regarding the incident should contact police. Tips can be submitted via Crimewatch.
