Wolman chapter of PA Sports Hall of Fame seeking new members

SHENANDOAH – The Jerry Wolman Northern Anthracite Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame is looking for new members.

The chapter, which recognizes outstanding athletes, coaches, and individuals who’ve promoted high school sports in northern Schuylkill County, is looking for new membership, specifically younger members.

“We are reaching out for anyone, but specifically younger people who will be there to continue providing the type of recognition that our chapter has proudly undertaken,” the chapter said in a statement.

The chapter recognizes athletes, coaches, and individuals who made an impact on high school athletics at Mahanoy Area, North Schuylkill, Shenandoah Valley, Marian Catholic, and the former Cardinal Brennan, Immaculate Heart, Shenandoah Catholic, Ashland, Frackville, Girardville, and Ringtown High Schools.

“To continue this recognition, we are seeking male and female members who have the passion, leadership, and ambition to recognize not only outstanding athletes, but coaches, and individuals who have promoted high school sports at [the above schools,]” the statement read.

Meetings of the chapter are held the first Monday of each month from March to November at the community room of the Shenandoah Valley High School.

Questions should be directed to Ann Kane at 570-462-1560.
