Wm. Penn crash under investigation

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - A crashed Chevy Sonic sits broadside on Elliot Street in William Penn.

WILLIAM PENN – No driver was found near a wrecked hatchback in this West Mahanoy Township village early Wednesday morning, and township police are investigating.

The crash was reported around 2:30am. First responders were dispatched to 105 Mount Olive Boulevard for reports of a vehicle crash, into a structure.

The crash was found behind that address, on Elliot Street, where a Chevy Sonic sat wrecked broadside in the narrow roadway.

No driver was present at the scene, no injuries were reported, and no damage to any structure was reported.

Township police at the scene said the crash is under investigation.

Responding to the scene were Shenandoah and West Mahanoy Township Police, William Penn and Altamont Fire, and Shenandoah Ambulance.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Steve’s Towing, Shenandoah.
