Wilburton man accused of taking four-wheeler for joyride

WILBURTON, Columbia County – A man from this Conyngham Township village is in Columbia County Prison, accused of swiping the keys to someone’s four-wheeler and taking it for a joyride.

State Police at Bloomsburg accused David Kobilis, 54, of Wilburton of felony burglary, criminal trespass, and theft by unlawful taking in the April 8 incident.

Troopers said Kobilis walked to a home at 584 1st Avenue in Wilburton Number One around 3:15am, and walked into the home of a sleeping 30-year-old Wilburton man, whose door was unlocked.

Kobilis took the keys to a 2020 Suzuki King Quad four-wheeler, and left the property with it.

He brought the four-wheeler back to the property, at which point he was confronted by the property owner.

Kobilis was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Craig Long and committed to Columbia County Prison, unable to post $10,000 bail.

In addition to the felony charges, he is facing misdemeanor criminal mischief and unlawful use of a vehicle.
