Urban announces five scholarship recipients
MAHANOY CITY – Five Mahanoy Area students are receiving scholarships, the Urban Scholarship Fund announced today.
Anthony “Tony” Urban announced that the recipients of this year’s Urban Memorial Scholarship are John Babinsky, Ann Hanley, Noah Karnish, Meghan MacCleary, and Maddison Quick, all 2021 graduates of Mahanoy Area.
Each year, trustees for the Urban Scholarship select eligible recipients from Mahanoy Area based on merit and need.
Since its establishment in 1993, it has awarded over $150,000.
The scholarship is administered by the Urban Law Offices of Mahanoy City and Pottsville.
Babinsky and Quick plan to study at Kings College, Hanley at Muhlenburg College, Karnish at DeSales University, and MacCleary at Penn State University Park.
