Township Police investigating pedestrian struck in Wm. Penn

WILLIAM PENN – One person was struck by a car on Route 54 in this West Mahanoy Township village Thursday evening.

First responders were called to the 200 block of Mount Olive Boulevard just before 6pm for a reported pedestrian struck.

West Mahanoy Township Police Chief Marvin Livergood said at the scene that the pedestrian was thrown onto the windshield of the vehicle.

A Dodge SUV was parked at the scene with a shattered windshield

Route 54 between St. Paul Street and Raven Run Road was closed for about an hour while township police, Shenandoah Police, and State Police investigated.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was transported to a local hospital by Shenandoah Ambulance. Their condition was not provided.
