SHENANDOAH – October’s meeting of the Greater Shenandoah Area Historical Society will focus on the 1930s murder of a woman known as “the Witch of Ringtown.”

Shot and killed in 1934, the historical society says the assassin believed he had been hexed by the woman, Susan Mummey, and shot her with a homemade pumpkin ball.

The meeting begins at 6:30pm next Tuesday, Oct. 3 at the society at Main and Cherry Streets.
