POTTSVILLE – The Schuylkill County Historical Society announced today a presentation set for later this month and a bus trip to Maryland in May.

On March 25, Lori Quinn, a featured artist at the Walk In Art Center, Schuylkill Haven, will speak at the historical society, 305 N. Centre Street, at 6:30pm that day.

The program, the historical society says, will be “about how the ornaments and other unique details of Pottsville buildings have inspired her work.”

The program will feature photos and finished art projects.

Admission is free for society members and $5 for the general public.

On May 2, the historical society will hold a bus trip to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine and the Pry Field Hospital museum in Frederick, Maryland.

The bus will leave Giant in Cressona at 7am, returning there at 7pm.

Cost is $60, and that includes transportation, a one-hour tour at each site, and a lecture at the Pry House. Lunch will be on participants’ own in Frederick.

To reserve a seat, call the historical society before April 24 at 570-622-7540.
