Roadwork closes lane of Route 924; HASD says buses could be delayed

BRANDONVILLE – Jersey barriers have one lane of Route 924 just north of the village center here closed for road work, and the Hazleton Area School District says buses could be delayed.

Superintendent Brian Uplinger notified parents that buses in the Brandonville area could be delayed by up to half an hour.

PennDOT says the road work is for drainage work and will last through the end of the month.

For now, the southbound lane is closed with jersey barriers surrounding heavy equipment.

Stop signs are also posted on either end, though a Sentinel photographer observed numerous drivers ignoring the signs Tuesday afternoon.
