Project beginning to resurface Route 309 between McAdoo, Hometown

LOFTY – A deteriorated highway in northeastern Schuylkill County will soon be resurfaced, PennDOT announced this week.

Work will begin on Route 309 between Ben Titus Road and Lofty Road beginning Monday, April 20.

Drivers should expect long-term lane restrictions on the main thoroughfare between McAdoo and Hometown.

PennDOT says the work includes milling, patching, paving, drainage updates, and more.

About 16,000 cars per day travel the highway on average. Work is expected to last until November.
