Police: Reading man strangled Turkey Run woman, fled

TURKEY RUN – A Reading man is in Schuylkill County Prison, accused of strangling his ex-girlfriend at her home in the Turkey Run section Saturday.

Borough Police were called Sunday to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Schuylkill in Pottsville to speak to the victim of a domestic assault.

Officers were told that Kyree Harris-Seabury, 20, of 2055 Alsace Road, Reading, broke into her home in the 100 block of Pioneer Road on Saturday and assaulted her.

She told police Harris-Seabury strangled her until she couldn’t breathe and punched her in the face. He also swiped her cell phone and refused to let her leave, police said.

Sunday morning, she tried to flee and said Harris-Seabury grabbed her by the throat and punched her in the stomach before fleeing via a vehicle.

The victim sustained neck, arm, lip, and nose injuries.

Harris-Seabury was free on bail for a prior domestic assault against the victim, police said.

An arrest warrant was obtained, and Harris-Seabury was located in the City of Reading by city police and Berks County Sheriffs.

He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker on charges of strangulation, criminal trespass, aggravated assault, simple assault, unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment, and intimidation of a witness/victim.

Bail was set at $100,000, and Harris-Seabury is committed to the Schuylkill County Prison.
