No injuries in multi-car North’d crash

GOWEN CITY – No one was injured in a multi-vehicle crash in this East Cameron Township village earlier this month.

State Police at Stonington released information on the crash Sunday.

Troopers said it happened around 4:30pm on Jan. 17 on Upper Road west of Route 125.

Steven Middaugh, 37, of Shamokin, was headed east on Upper Road in a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee when troopers said he rear-ended a 1998 Chevrolet, driven by Corey Collier, 41, of Shamokin.

Middaugh’s vehicle continued into the oncoming westbound lane, hitting a 2006 Ford F350 driven by Charles Sweinhart, 25, of Hegins, and a trailer he was hauling. A 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier was on that trailer and struck by Middaugh’s vehicle as well, troopers said.

No one involved in the crash was hurt. Troopers said Middaugh was not wearing his seatbelt, nor was a passenger Sweinhart’s vehicle.

Middaugh will be cited for the crash.
