No injuries in Gold Star Plaza crash

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - A Toyota sedan sits damaged at the entrance to Gold Star Plaza, while firefighters stand by a Jeep, also involved.

TURKEY RUN – No one was hurt when two cars collided at the entrance to Gold Star Plaza in the Turkey Run section of town Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened around 3:40pm at the entrance to the shopping center on Route 924.

Borough Police said a white Toyota sedan was headed towards Frackville, passing the plaza, when a Jeep Liberty, turning into the plaza, struck the sedan.

Both vehicles suffered minor damage.

Neither driver was transported from the scene, though the Jeep driver was evaluated by Shenandoah Ambulance.

A lane of Route 924 was closed for a short time, but was open within about 15 minutes.

Also responding were firefighters from Shenandoah’s Rescue Hook and Ladder and Columbia fire companies, along with West Mahanoy Township Police.
