Nine inducted in Wolman Sports Hall of Fame

SHENANDOAH – Nine people were inducted into the Jerry Wolman Northeast Anthracite Chapter of the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame Saturday night.
The inductees were graduates of northern Schuylkill high schools and excellent athletes in their time there.
They are:
- Jim Batdorf, Ashland Class of 1960
- Steve Karvois, Shenandoah Valley Class of 1983
- Sam Matta, Shenandoah Class of 1966
- Chris Palubinsky, Shenandoah Valley Class of 2013
- Dr. Kelly Purcell, Mahanoy Area Class of 2009
- Samantha Sachelben Snyder, North Schuylkill Class of 2001
- Richard Wetzel, Jr., North Schuylkill
- Eric Whalen, Shenandoah Valley Class of 2012
- Natalie Alansky-Zawada, Mahanoy Area Class of 1988.
