Minersville fire victim, rescued from burning home, dies at hospital

MINERSVILLE – The man who was rescued from a burning row home here earlier this month has died, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said Monday.

Mario Ramirez, 77, of Minersville was heroically rescued from the roof of his home in the 600 block of North Second Street on April 14 by Oscar Rivera, a neighbor.

Ramirez was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township, near Allentown, where he died Sunday afternoon.

Minersville Police are investigating the fire, the coroner’s office said.
