Local fire companies receive K-9 oxygen masks

TREMONT – For the second year in a row, a local charitable organization is helping local fire companies via equipment donations.
Canine Clothing for Charity donated 25 pet oxygen masks to fire companies from as close as Mahanoy City to as far as Port Clinton and Harrisburg. Beneficiary fire companies received their donations this evening at the Tremont Fire Company.
Donna Wallace, a member of the organization, explained a bit about what the organization does, noting volunteers “knit, sew, crochet, and make beautiful crafts.”
“We then seek donations for our merchandise at various craft fairs,” Wallace said. “100% of all our money we receive is used for helping animals everywhere.”
In addition to the oxygen masks, Wallace said, the organization has donated to 13 animal shelters in Schuylkill County and the Susquehanna Valley.
This is the second year the organization has donated pet oxygen masks to first responders. We were there last year when the organization donated 14 oxygen masks to area first responders in Minersville.
“This year, we’re happy that we had enough funds to do 25 more,” Wallace said.
