The Shenandoah Valley High School Drama Club added still another page to their impressive theatrical resume with their recent production of “Into the Woods.” The cast members really outdid themselves with dialogue, singing & choreography that was well received by audiences over the three-day run.

The students who began with auditions in early November gave a performance that was indicative of the many hours they spent in preparation. Because of the collective effort in making the show a success, it would be remiss to single out any individuals as everyone contributed in one way or another in presenting one very impressive show.

More important than their performance, these students and their families now can cherish a special memory that will last them a lifetime.

Speaking on behalf of the cast members, they would like to convey their sincere thanks to the students behind the scenes who participated as stage crew, lighting crew, stage managers, set design, construction, decorations, costumes, hair & makeup. Also, special thanks to SV teachers Ann Taylor, Bill Kreiger, and several students who contributed by decorating the lobby outside the auditorium with a theme that complimented the program.

Also, the parents (aka Drama Mamas & Dads) for their unending support & encouragement that they provided. It was really heartwarming to see the pride and the love that manifested itself in the lobby when the parents and their children embraced after the show concluded.

Lastly the SV Drama Club production staff for their labor of love serving as theatrical advisers. These exceptional individuals who brought it all together are: Bridget Rooney Production Direction, Wendy Nicodemus Music Direction, Tori Correll Assistant Direction, Lindsey Zackaravage Lighting Design, Marissa Yorke Choreography, & Sarah Elizabeth Yorke Fight Choreography & Costuming.  After months of practice you challenged your students by raising the bar and your students responded in an exceptional manner bringing both joy and a bit of Broadway into our lives, & into our hearts. Congratulations to all on a job well done!
