SHENANDOAH – A Sunbury-based glass manufacturer has expanded operations to Shenandoah.

United Plate Glass began operations in the former Amity Carts building on East Washington Street earlier this month, the company said in a media release.

“We are thrilled to join the Shenandoah community,” said Nate Lawrence, President of UPG. “This expansion will allow us to better serve our loyal customers and meet the growing demand for glazing services.”

The state-of-the-art 23,000 square foot facility will allow for the expansion of fabrication of aluminum frames and doors, as well as provide room for large glazing projects, storage, and office space for project managers and estimators.

The company, founded in 1980, says the Shenandoah facility will put UPG in a better position to serve northeastern and eastern Pennsylvania, as well as New York and New Jersey.

“With the addition of our new fabrication center and expanded storage space, we will be able to take on even larger projects while maintaining the highest level of quality and service,” Lawrence said. “We are excited for our current team members as we continue to grow and create opportunities for everyone involved.”

“We continue to reinvest in the company and community as we position ourselves strategically within the commercial glazing market,” Lawrence added. “We have an incredible team, and the continued success is reflective of everyone’s exceptional efforts.”

The company adds that the expansion will bring jobs and economic opportunities to the area.
