SHENANDOAH – Four were recognized Wednesday at Trinity Academy’s eighth grade graduation ceremonies, held at the Divine Mercy Parish on West Cherry Street across from the school.

The four — Consuelo Barcenas, Kerrigan Digris, Madison Kramer, and Christopher Stanalonis — donned blue and gold gowns and were joined by friends, family, and school faculty for the ceremony, which doubled as a mass.

Their class was an unusually small one for the school, the only catholic school in northern Schuylkill County, which normally graduates between 12 and 20 per year, as it did last year and expects to do next year. Sister Margaret McCullough, the school’s principal, said the four were “beneficiaries of many, many blessings throughout the year.”

“I wish them all the best,” McCullough added, addressing the gathered group.

Digris served as student council president this year, and also spoke, reflecting on her experiences at the school.”I’ve learned so much, yet never felt rushed or pressured,” said Digris. “I understood the material and what the teachers were trying to get across, which, in some schools, does not happen very often.”

“I know that when we approach high school, no one will be as prepared as we,” Digris added.

Digris also spoke of her classmates.

“Since our class is so small this year, I’ve had an opportunity to learn a lot about our classmates, and we’ve become great friends,” Digris said, describing Barcenas as “always respectful and kind,” Kramer as a “very good storyteller,” and Stanalonis as “hilarious.”

Concluding her speech, Digris thanked Trinity faculty and staff, her parents and those of her classmates, and her classmates themselves.

“They have made this year unforgettable, and I truly appreciate it,” said Digris.

The four were the recipients of a multitude of awards, which were also presented at the graduation ceremony. The graduates and their awards are as follows:
