Dryer malfunction draws fire response to Turkey Run

TURKEY RUN – Shenandoah firefighters responded to a home in this Shenandoah village Friday afternoon after a dryer malfunction created a smoke condition.

Firefighters were called to 501 Furnace Street in the Turkey Run section just after 2:00pm for a reported house fire.

Crews from all five fire companies arrived to the single family home within minutes to find nothing showing from the exterior of the home.

Fire officials said a dryer issue created a smoke condition in the home, and that no damage was caused to the home by the incident.

No injuries were reported, and fire crews were clear within about 20 minutes.

Assisting Shenandoah Fire at the scene were Shenandoah Police, Mahanoy City Police, and Shenandoah Ambulance.
