Culinary incident draws fire response to Shen. Village Apartments

SHENANDOAH – ​A culinary incident in an apartment on the east end drew the response of fire crews Thursday evening.

Shenandoah firefighters were dispatched to the Shenandoah Village Apartments, 200 East Coal Street, for reports of an apartment fire around 9:00pm.


Responding units were advised otherwise, that a resident believed “they may have burned something inside a microwave” and that no fire was present.

Shenandoah Police and firefighters arrived on scene, investigated, and crews ventilated the building.

Firefighters were clear of the scene by 9:30pm.

Crews from Shenandoah’s Defender, Columbia, and Rescue Hook and Ladder fire companies responded along with Shenandoah Police and Shenandoah Ambulance.
