EAST UNION TOWNSHIP – If you use Rattlin Run Road to get between Brandonville and Ringtown, you’ll soon have to go the long way via the Shenandoah mountain.

Signs are posted along the road, which is also State Route 339, noting that the bridge over Rattling Run, just east of the Park Crest Fish and Game Club, will be closed beginning April 22.

PennDOT contractors will replace the bridge, which the state says has deteriorated and was damaged by flooding.

Traffic will be rerouted via Route 924 and Ringtown Boulevard through Ringtown during the project.

Brush has already been cleared around the site. It is not clear how long the project will take.
