Bridge beam removal to close I-81 North near Pine Grove over weekend
IRVING – If you’ll be coming back to the area from Harrisburg or points south overnight tonight, you’ll have to take a detour through the Pine Grove area.
PennDOT says I-81 North will be closed at the PA 443 overpass as a damaged bridge beam is removed from 1am to 8am Saturday morning.
They said the beam was struck by a vehicle on Nov. 1 and a new beam will be installed in the spring.
Route 443 under I-81 will be closed from 7pm Friday until 10pm Saturday as well.
The Northbound shoulder on I-81 will be closed until further notice, as well.
PennDOT asks drivers to use caution in the area.
