Borough chief named FOP Officer of the Year

SHENANDOAH – Our police chief since March of 2013, George Carado was recognized by the county’s Fraternal Order of Police recently as their Officer of the Year.

The Schuylkill County Sheriff’s Office announced the FOP Lodge 25’s selection and recognition on their Facebook page.

Carado has been Shenandoah’s police chief since March 2013, when he was hired to succeed Joseph Hall, who resigned in July, 2012.

Prior to serving as chief, he was a captain in the Shenandoah Police Department.
