Body found in woodlands near Altamont service station
ALTAMONT – State Police are investigating after a body was found in the area of the Central Highway gas station off Altamont Boulevard.
State Police say the body was found around 11:30am Wednesday.
Troopers said a Black male was found dead in the woods in the area of 665 Lincoln Avenue in the Altamont section of West Mahanoy Township.
The victim’s name was not released.
The State Police at Frackville Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating and troopers said there is no believed threat to the public.
