Ashland to begin enforcing parking meter violations Aug. 2

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - A parking meter on West Centre Street in Ashland on July 14, 2021.

ASHLAND – If you park in a metered spot on Centre Street in Ashland next month, feed the meter or expect a ticket, borough council said Wednesday.

The meters along Centre Street were recently recalibrated and enforcement will resume Aug. 2.

“I don’t want someone getting a ticket and saying that nobody told them about it,” Mayor Ray Walacavage said at Wednesday’s council meeting.

Walacavage said that meters along cross streets will not be enforced yet, as those meters have not yet been calibrated.

He said that will come in the near future.
