Mahanoy City man injured, cited after New Jersey rollover crash

WALLINGTON, New Jersey – A Mahanoy City man was cited after police in New Jersey say he rolled his SUV while trying to make an illegal pass.
The crash happened near the Gregory Avenue Bridge in Wallington, New Jersey, near Passaic, around midday Wednesday, Wallington Police told the Sentinel.
First responders arrived to find a Mercedes on its side after a crash involving it and a Honda van.
The Mercedes, police said, was driven by a 29-year-old Mahanoy City man. His name was not released. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack for treatment of injuries.
Wallington Police said he was driving in the opposite lane to pass a Honda van when the crash happened. The driver of the Honda, a Glen Rock, New Jersey, man, was not hurt.
Both drivers were cited for racing on highways, following too closely, and reckless driving. The Mahanoy City man was also cited for improper passing.
