SHENANDOAH – If you want to help your community in a time of need but don’t see yourself running into burning buildings, consider joining the Shenandoah Fire Police.
Mayor Bob Cook said at Monday’s meeting the borough is in dire need of fire police volunteers.
Fire Police handle traffic and crowd control at fire scenes and other incidents, among numerous other duties.
Cook said potential volunteers should reach out to your local firehouse.
“We need volunteers. We could use the help,” Cook said. “I, myself, am going to join. Consider volunteering if your have the time.”
There are only a few fire police members in town, Cook said.
