PSP: Amazon truck failed to yield in turn, causes crash, injures Zion Grove woman

SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS – The driver of an Amazon delivery truck was cited after State Troopers say he failed to yield to approaching traffic and caused a crash at the Route 924/Ringtown Boulevard split Thursday.

The crash happened around 8pm Thursday, according to State Police at Frackville.

Troopers said Houssem Saidi, 25, of West Pittston, was driving a 2024 Rivian south on Ringtown Boulevard towards Shenandoah.

A 2010 Subaru Forester, driven by Patricia Alshefski, 69, of Zion Grove, was headed north on Ringtown Boulevard at the time.

Troopers said Saidi attempted to turn left to take Route 924 towards Brandonville, failing to yield to Alshefski, who was headed towards Ringtown.

The two vehicles collided and both were disabled.

Saidi was not injured, troopers said.

Alshefski was taken by Shenandoah EMS to a Pottsville hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Her passenger, 18-year-old Joshua Alshefski, of Zion Grove, was not hurt.

Saidi, troopers said, was cited for the crash.
