PSP: Man jumped in front of truck, punched and ran into vehicle, fled into woodlands
LAKE HAUTO – A Nesquehoning man is facing reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct charges for an incident in this Rush Township community.
Louis Cichon, 56, of Nesquehoning, is free on $5,000 bail, facing misdemeanor reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and summary harassment charges.
State Police at Frackville said Wednesday that they were called to Lake Drive and Deer Trail in Lake Hauto around 10pm August 29.
A 57-year-old woman was driving on Lake Drive towards her home when troopers said Cichon “jumped in front of her vehicle.”
The woman stopped and exited her car to provide aid to Cichon, who then began screaming and punching the hood of her pickup truck.
She tried to get back into her vehicle, and troopers said Cichon ran into the front quarter panel of the truck, causing damage.
Cichon then fled into the woodlands and troopers did not locate him at that time.
Overnight, troopers were called back to Lake Hauto for a suspicious male in the same area and found Cichon standing in the middle of Lake Drive.
A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 3 before Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer.
