HOMETOWN – The Sky View Memorial Park cemetery in this Rush Township village will be participate in National Wreaths Across America Day again this year, and volunteers are looking for your help to honor local veterans.

Sky View is one of 3,800 locations nationwide which will commemorate the day simultaneously on Dec. 16.

“Local volunteers are working hard to ensure that all veterans laid to rest at Sky View Memorial Park are honored this December on National Wreaths Across America Day,” a media release said. “The goal for Sky View Memorial Park is to raise enough funds to place 3,600 sponsored veterans’ wreaths on the headstones of all the local heroes laid to rest there, to ensure that the individuals who served to protect the freedoms of our country never be forgotten and to bring the community together in patriotic commemoration.”

This is the fourth year that Sky View has participated. The effort is overseen by national nonprofit Wreaths Across America, with the mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach.
