SHENANDOAH – Former Mrs. T’s executive Tim Twardzik is running for the state house, and, before a crowd of family, friends, and area residents gathered for the announcement, he outlined his background and campaign platform.
Twardzik is running to replace the retiring democrat, Neal Goodman, from Mahanoy City in the 123rd District. The district includes the majority of the Sentinel coverage area, including Shenandoah, Ashland, Mahanoy City, Girardville, Gilberton, Frackville, Delano Township, West Mahanoy Township, Butler Township, and Gordon.
“I am running to be a voice for the brave entrepreneurs and the risk takers like my dad who still believe that anything is possible in America,” Tim said. “I am running to be a voice for the working men and women who many not believe that dream will be alive for their own children, but are working hard every day to change that reality.”
“I am running to represent those who have no voice at all, the defenseless and most vulnerable, because every person deserves a chance to live and experience the blessings of liberty,” Tim added.
Twardzik, running as a Republican, was joined and introduced at the rally, held at the Schuylkill Historical Fire Society on Jardin Street, by Senator David G. Argall, a fellow Republican.
“When the campaign asked me to introduce Tim tonight, I said yes in about a millisecond, but then I put the phone down and I thought ‘What do I say about this?'” Argall said. “Is there anybody in Schuylkill County who doesn’t know this man?”
“Some of you have worked with him creating job after job after job here in Schuylkill County, and in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, there is no more important issue than job creation,” Argall added.
Argall emphasized that one of the most important action he’s taken in his life to help the area wasn’t what he did for the company, or in academics at Shenandoah Valley or Notre Dame, or anything else.
“What impressed me the most was the fact that, as talented as he is, with so many opportunities, he chose to come back here,” Argall said. “That was so important, not just in growing the family business, but in working with other entrepreneurs, other businesses, with his roles in the chamber and the manufacturers and SEDCO and the hospital board.”

Tim drew inspiration from lessons learned from his father, Ted, who founded Ateeco, Inc., makers of Mrs. T’s Pierogies.
“Work, hard work, work done with a special pride and excellence is worth every hardship and sacrifice,” Tim said. “He taught me that no one was better or more important than a new hire. Whether you mopped the floor or ran the shop, you matter. You deserve to be able to support your family and raise a family.”
“Ted Twardzik wanted the people that worked for him to be able to know what it meant to own a home and buy their children clothes and put something away for college,” Tim said.
So far, no democrat has announced a campaign to run against Tim Twardzik.
