TEENER BASEBALL: Shen., Mahanoy Junior Division playoff game to be decided tomorrow in extras

WILLIAM PENN – A Schuylkill County Teener League Junior Division quarterfinal matchup will be decided tomorrow, after the game knotted up at 13-apiece into extra innings.

Shenandoah’s Mrs. T’s squad, seeded #5 with a 9-4 record, faced #4 Mahanoy City, also with a 9-4 record, at the William Penn field Thursday evening.

The game looked like a runaway in Shenandoah’s favor early on, with the Mrs. T’s squad amassing an 8-0 advantage at one point. Mahanoy would close the gap as the game progressed, knotting the game up at 8 apiece in the top of the sixth inning.

The game was called after seven innings with a tied score at 13.

The game will continue at 3:00pm at the William Penn field, with the winner advancing to the semifinals to face #1 Branch Township (12-1) immediately after.
