SV names Emma Aftuk student of the month for December

SHENANDOAH – Shenandoah Valley Senior Emma Aftuk was named student of the month at the high school for December, the district announced Friday.
Aftuk has volunteered at Kielbasi Fest, at a town clean-up with the volleyball team, at the Lady Devils Youth Basketball Camp, Field Day, and Spartan Games.
Her activities at school include volleyball, basketball, National Arts Honor Society, student council and National Honor Society.
She says she enjoys swimming, running, hanging out with friends, going for long rides with the windows down, being with her family, and playing with her chocolate lab, Meadow.
Aftuk plans to attend Wilkes University for pre-med.
